Role overview
We are seeking a skilled Mason/Bricklayer for a project in the United Arab Emirates. This role involves constructing and repairing walls, floors, fireplaces, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. The position is project-based with competitive pay.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to construct or repair structures.
- Mix mortar and grout, and spread it onto a slab or foundation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Cut or break bricks and concrete using hammers, powered abrasive saws, paving breakers, or drills.
- Align structures vertically and horizontally, using levels and plumb bobs.
- Clean excess mortar with trowels and other hand tools.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience as a Mason/Bricklayer.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in using masonry tools such as trowels, levels, and power saws.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Knowledge of safety practices in construction environments.
Nice to have
- Experience working in the UAE or similar environments.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Working conditions
Work is performed outdoors on construction sites. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions. Safety gear is required at all times.
