UAE Enhances Wage Protection System with Seven New Financial Institutions for Streamlined Salary Transfers

Date Published

The UAE has expanded its Wage Protection System by including seven new institutions, allowing for easier and more flexible salary payments for workers, enhancing compliance and transparency.

On October 27, 2026, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in the UAE announced the addition of seven new financial institutions to the Wage Protection System (WPS). This expansion aims to streamline salary payment processes and provide more flexibility for employers in fulfilling their wage obligations.

The enhancement reduces the bureaucracy involved in salary transfers and simplifies registration for payment options. With these changes, more than 99% of private-sector workers are expected to benefit from improved wage compliance and protection mechanisms, ensuring timely salary payments and promoting stability in the labor market.

MoHRE officials noted that the updates are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and reliability of wage payments, which are crucial for maintaining stable employer-employee relationships in the UAE.
