India's new trade agreement with New Zealand creates new pathways for skilled workers.
Following the entry into force of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, two new work visa categories have been established aimed at Indian citizens. The India Skilled Work Visa and the India Iconic Work Visa will provide approximately 1,667 visas annually, allowing Indian nationals to work in New Zealand in skilled occupations. Each visa will be valid for up to three years. The agreement underscores New Zealand's commitment to fostering international skilled labor and is intended to address skill shortages in the country.
