Advisory against internet recruitment scam

The Philippine Embassy warns jobseekers about internet scams targeting those seeking employment in the UK.

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul has issued a strong advisory against ongoing internet recruitment scams that falsely offer job opportunities in the UK. Filipino jobseekers have fallen victim to schemes where they are asked to remit money for non-existent job placements. The embassy stresses that any job offers requiring upfront payments are fraudulent and urges applicants to verify offers through official government channels such as the POEA. The advisory highlights that genuine employment opportunities are not predicated upon payment for processing fees, which scammers employ to exploit desperate job seekers.
